Getting Started with ListManager 7.0
Part 2: Adding test members
Now that you know how to create and view a list, you're ready to add some test members. Lists are comprised of members; in other words, individual members make up each list.
It's helpful to add a few addresses to your list while you try out your list. We recommend having an email account at one of the many free web-based email providers so you can test message delivery outside your own domain and get a better idea of how messages are going to look to the people to whom you are sending.
DO NOT add all of your members now! You don't want your members to see your messages until your list is 100% tested and ready.
Creating test members
- Click on the Utilities tab.
- Click on Members. The following window will open:
- The first time you go here, you may see two or three members: yourself and staff from Sparklist. We recommend keeping us as members during the testing phase so if you're having a problem we'll have an example if you need help.
- Click on Create New Member. The following window will open:
- You will be looking at the Basics tab. Enter the name and email address of a test member. To add more detail for this member, you may click on the other tabs, however all you need to add the member to the list is the email address.
- Save. Once you save you’ll then see the new member on the list of members.
Creating multiple members
You can add multiple members with Create Many Members:
Select "Create many new members" from the drop-down menu, and click Go. You can then enter multiple email addresses at once and save all together.
Alternatively, you can Import Members from File, also available in the drop-down box on the Utilities: Members page. This opens the following window:
You can import members from either a text file or a csv (comma separated values) file.
