Part 1: The ListManager web interface (2 of 2)
If the Home page is your "dashboard," then UTILITIES shows you "what's under the hood":
Under Utilities, you can configure your list. You can set the following things:
List Settings: Includes basic list settings, subscriber information, e-mail and web created content, set up discussion group features, etc.:
Members: Displays all the members on the list which you are logged into; clicking on a member name will take you to a window with detailed information about that member. To create new members, select "Create New Member" or "Import from File" from the pull-down menu:
List Documents: Displays a list of all the documents, which are messages that can be sent automatically when users perform certain actions. Some default templates are provided for you for the most common of these tasks, including welcome, goodbye, and confirmation templates.
Mail Queues: Allow you to monitor all email traffic to and from your list. You can determine how long mail is held in the incoming and outgoing mail queues, depending on how long your server is set to hold old data. The incoming mail queue list might look like this:
If you click on the link under the Date column, you can see the detail for the actual message sent or received.
Autoresponders: Autoresponders are ListManager email addresses that always respond by sending a document to it. For instance, you might want to always automatically send a document to anyone who requests "prices" at an email address such as "prices@lists.yourcompany.com".
Administration: This menu allows you to administer your lists, sites, and servers. Note that if you do not see all the options below, you may not have administrator access:
Other: Displays miscellaneous items, including creating action tags for tracking purposes, subscriber forms, see your login status, etc.:
* If you ever get lost, just click on the Home tab to be taken back to the Home page. If you want to dive right in and send a mailing, you can skip creating Content and Segments, and go straight to Mailings. You can do this by either clicking on the Mailings tab, or clicking on "New", "View", or "Need Approval" on the Homepage. Later, you can learn more about how you can personalize messages in Content, and target groups of your lists in Segments.
Other web interface features
Help: If you ever have a question about a particular page, just click the
icon, which is on nearly every page of the interface. It will take you directly to the relevant page in the User's Manual. When using the manual, you can do a "Search" on any particular item, or view the breakdown of items in the Contents.
Download as File: On pages where you see the
icon, you have the option to download the information in the table as a CSV (comma separated values) file, which you can use with Microsoft Excel™.
